MODISS is one of the leading Spanish producer of lightning which is worldwide known for its outstanding desing.


In 1994 the industrial Designer, Alfonso Fontal, took part in the 1st Spring Design Contest. During this competition recognition for the young entrepreneur was unanimou, and he managed not only to achieve the position of winner.

Since then, inovation in each of its designs, the originality in combining materials and forms, and a search for the soul hidden in spaces has been a constatn element in the development of MODISS company.

Alfonso Fontal
Alfonso Fontal


(Barcelona) - he has been developing his artistic inclinations since he was a child, associated to a great curiosity and skill for drawing. After his training as an industrial and interior designer he founded MODISS in 1994 and is in charge of aesthetic line. His passion for experimentation has recieved international acknowledgment on several occasions, for example in 2000 with the PINNACLE award of the Amarican Society of Furniture Designers, and more recently the GOOD DESIGN award from the Chicago Athenaeum.


Jesper K. Thomsen
Jesper K. Thomsen


Mr. Thomsen was born in Odense, Denmark in 1971. After an education as Building engineer and after as Designer at The Danish Design School in Copenhaugen, hundreds of prototypes, and several design awards, Jesper is not only creating beautifully aesthetic products but is also achieving functional superiority through technical innovation. By resisting the simple solution and focusing on solving the underlying proglem inherent in a project, Jesper K. Thompsen has quickly produced a significant portofilio of innovative, functional, and beautiful products which can be found worldwide.


Ramón Benedito
Ramón Benedito


In 1973 he founded Benedito Design, a team specialising in product design and development. It carries out projects for some of country´s leading companies. He is a member of the Scientific Comittee of the Istituto Europeo di Design and has been a consultant for KIDP (Korean Institute of Industrial Design). He received the National Design Award in 1992. He has been deeply involved in teaching, acts as a consultant and participates in national and international seminars. His work has been exhibited in the most important world capitals.

Valéry Bouvier

Valéry Bouvier


Valery studied Industrial Design at the Elisava School in Barcelona in 1997. His innovative ideas made him an outstanding studeng; he started working for companies in Europe and the Far East in lighting design, which included the GILDA design for MODISS. He also developed a range of design proposals for exhibition stands, sales points and corporate image in a variety of sectors.

 

 

Luis Guillermo Pons
Luis Guillermo Pons


Luis Guillermo Pons is a native of Caracas, Venezuela, where he was raised, educated and received his degree in Architecture the Universidad José Maria Vargas in 1995. In 2002, he moved to Miami, Florida. His vision of design extends out through different areas of design, encompassing everything from architecture to interior design and landscape design to the design of jewelry, objects and illumination.


 

 

Burkhard Dämmer

Burkhard Dämmer


After his degree as a cabinet maker he studied product design at the FH Damstadt (D) and San Jose State University (CA, USA). Since 1996 he designs products in the fields of light, kitchen, sanitary and accessories. For him designing starts with asking questions and searching for interesting and good answers. His designs are awarded with the IF Award, DesignPlus Award, Form Award and the Spanis CDIM Award.
